Fall is my favorite time of year

I am so happy the fall is here. This summer has been crazy hot and unbearable! I am a dark tights, dark make up, dark nails kind of girl. And I may have been keeping that up throughout the summer because I don't know how to tone things down, but now that it is acceptable I feel excited. Boots! Jackets! Scarves! Hot coffees on the go! I love this. I love when it is still sunny but the air is crisp and chilly. I don't miss being in the depths of winter in Sweden (oh boy, I really don't miss that.) But I like the grey skies and rain (when I am inside with a warm cup of tea) Fall is perfection.

The main reason I have been slacking with updates is because... there hasn't been anything to update about. I am trying really hard to get motivated and design things, but honestly, I am finding it really difficult to just switch on and keep on designing things when studios just never get back to you. Sick of hunting people down and forcing them to talk to me. Going to interviews and being asked "How did we get in touch again?" Sick of no money, not knowing anyone and having days and weeks slip by with no results. This sounds really depressing. I am not depressed! Just disheartened. But I will keep on truckin'.

No lie yo, I have lusted after these Melissa shoes since I first saw them on The FFB like a year or so ago. I think living in England the plastic ones would be more practical. They would be like... my version of wellies.


A candy striper pinafore dress. How I have searched high and low for one of you in a small size that is short enough for my immodesty. And I have found you!!! No lie folks. I might have to buy this one. The rest will have to remain lofty dreams for now.

Today was an eventful day. Went for an interview in the morning which resulted in another (4–12 week) placement come November. Got home to find an email from the studio I did a placement for last month that they want me to come back for another week or so and also got some commissioned illustration work! From living a drab and dreary life to actually... having a to do list?

Full Frontal Fringe and NON retro OOTD

Today was a "I cannot decide if I actually like retro clothing," kind of day. So I dressed kinda blandly (for me. People still stared at me like I was freak when I went out.) Then my latest vintage dress came in the post and I decided I totally do love retro.

Frame project OR how to keep busy whilst trying to become a designer

1. Dig out some hideous frames from a past design project.


2. Sand sand sand that ugly away.


3. Paint them some lovely pastel colors, finish with a top coat and pop in some nice photos.

4. Try to do some REAL work. (I am having major creative block with my second mailer. Poo.)
